Vacationers mostly visit Longboat Key to frolic on the beach and in the clear blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Other recreational activities include boating, fishing, enjoying a day at the spa, shopping, parasailing, jetskiing, dining and fine or casual restaurants on St. Armands Circle, playing tennis or golfing. Longboat Key is the only barrier island off the coast of Sarasota that a golf course.
Longboat Key is also conveniently located to Sarasota's culture district. Art lovers will find it easy to enjoy the theater, opera, symphony, ballet, movies or art museums.
