Located a few minutes south of Sarasota sits the gorgeous 8 mile long barrier island of Casey Key. Known around Sarasota as having some of the most beautiful waterfront homes in the area. You will often see people passing through the island to catch a glimpse of these large waterfront estate. Many of the properties extend from the gulf to the bay. This is one of the few places where homeowners can enjoy the beach and bay within a few steps of each other.

The north end of Casey Key meets the south end of Siesta Key while the south end of the island extends to Venice. The island is easily accessible by two bridges with the north bridge being a charming old-time swing bridge.

Unlike most of the Florida coast Casey Key consists of mostly single family homes. There are just over 500 residences on the island as well as some older mom and pop beach front motels and low density condos that have been grandfathered in under old building codes. A refreshing difference from many parts of Florida the island currently does not allow large high rise condo developments.

Recreation on the island is easy to find. Residents and visitors can enjoy boating, swimming, fishing, snorkeling, playing volleyball, and relaxing or strolling on the gorgeous powdery white sand beaches of Casey Key. There is also a 22 acre beach park on the south end of the island that hosts the infamous drum circle. Locals gather on the beach, form a circle and play a variety of musical instruments.

Homes on the island are either non waterfront, on the bay front, on the beach or enjoy a gulf to bay lot. There is a good mix of architecural styles on the island. You will see mostly modern, key west style, old florida and spanish-mediterranean styles.
