You have seen all of the horrible news lately about the economic crisis in the United States. As I am writing this I had to run into the other room to watch the 60 Minutes story about it. It is the most talked about and controversial news subject today. Whether you are rich, poor or average this situation touches everyone in some way.
Could all of this bad bews be helpful if you are a home buyer? I think so. All of this bad press affects the psychology of the home sellers. Some of them are thinking, "Let me get rid of this place ASAP! I need to sell before anything else...

Last week my client closed on this Longboat Key condo located in The Shore. Ths Shore is located at 5757 Gulf of Mexico Drive which is near the north end of the island. This 2 bedroom/2 bathroom condominium has 1,711 square feet, sits on the ground floor for easy access to the beach and also provides fabulous beach, water and sunset views. The Shore offers heated pool, sauna, spa, exercise room, photo, art and pottery rooms, library, clubhouse. The complex also allows large dog for the pet lover. My client plans on doing an extensive renovation of this unit.

I just updated my Sarasota real estate market stats page for the month of May. There are some interesting observations from May 1st to today, June 12th. Total inventory levels for both homes and condos have declined. The number of homes under contract increased. Homes for sale on almost all of the barrier islands and Lakewood Ranch have declined.
