Housing prices rise in Sarasota-Bradenton

If you read the Sarasota Herald Tribune newspaper this morning you probably noticed the article about how housing prices rose in Sarasota and Bradenton. You can read it here.
A couple of highlights:
- The February-to-March increase is the first time prices have risen in a year. It came with a boost in sales in both Sarasota-Bradenton and the Charlotte County-North Port market. (most likely a fluke).
- Nine out of Florida's 20 largest markets saw month-to-month gains as well, with Gainesville posting a 23.5 percent increase, according to Florida Association of Realtors data released Thursday.
- Statewide, sales rose 30 percent in March while the median sales price dropped 30 percent from a year ago to $141,300. But pricing slipped only $600 from February to March.
