Drum Circle on Siesta Key

Posted by Marc Rasmussen on Sunday, November 9th, 2008 at 8:39pm.

We took the kids to the Siesta Key drum circle tonight. I have been to the drum circle before but I really wanted to see how the kids would like it. They really enjoyed themselves. Tyler went right out to the center and enjoyed looking at all of the people playing their instruments. Dylan listened but spent most of his time playing in the powdery white, cool sands on Siesta Key.

If you don't know about the drum circle you can read more about it here. The drum circle takes place on Siesta Key Public Beach, Sarasota, Florida. It starts about an  hour (or two) before sundown, every Sunday. Bring a djembe, a drum, a cowbell, a shaker, a flute or anything that makes noise, and you are part of the entertaining team. Bring good mood, willingness to dance, desire to listen, or curiosity to witness the belly dancers, and you are part of the entertained audience. Embracing diversity. Everyone is welcomed to the Siesta key drum circle.

If you have not seen it give it a whirl sometime.
