Sarasota County Market Update

Below is a chart showing the number of properties for sale (light green bars), under contract (red line) and sold properties(dark green bars) for the last 3 years in Sarasota county. As you can see inventory are down and sales are up. Good sign.

The Sarasota Herald Tribune reports today that home sales are strong in this area. Here are highlights of the article:

• Home sales in Southwest Florida soared during June, rising 35 percent in Sarasota-Bradenton and 44 percent in Charlotte County-North Port.
• June was the fourth straight month that sales topped the 1,000 mark in the Sarasota-Bradenton market.
• The median sales price of $170,400 in Sarasota-Bradenton was a 5 percent increase from a year ago and up 2.4 percent from May, according to data released Thursday by Florida Realtors.
