My clients closed on a Peppertree condo on Siesta Key yesterday. I asked if them if it was ok to blog about it. This Siesta Key condo was listed for $310,000 and it sold for $290,000.

It may have bottomed. It may have not. It is a common question asked to Realtors and other real estate professionals. The bottom line is that no one knows for sure. A lot of people are trying to time the bottom of the Sarasota real estate market but no one can tell you when it will happen.

Pessimism and Optimism

Everyone seems to have an opinion on the market. There is a pessimistic group of people out there who believe no matter what that home prices will continue to fall. These people tend to seek out bad real estate news to validate their beliefs.

If you really want to annoy a Realtor ask them to help find you a home and then buy the home through a different Realtor. Like many agents I have been burned this way in the past but not so much anymore.

I was recently contacted by someone asking for help in buying a home. One of the questions I ask everyone is, "Are you represented by a Realtor?" This person said, "Yes, I have been working with a close friend." Not everyone knows how real estate works so I explained to this person how the real estate process works and how that they need only hire one good Realtor to represent them.
