Pros:

Longboat Key is gorgeous and very pristine. We decided to buy here for that reason. Siesta Key was a bit too overgrown and dense.

Cons:

It takes a little while to get into Sarasota during season. The traffic can be heavy.

Summary:

We bought here in 2012 and still love it.

Pros:

Longboat Key is absolutely gorgeous. It belongs in a post card. The beaches are very private and quiet. Very peaceful. Great for escaping.

Cons:

Very few new condo buildings

Summary:

We own a winter condo on the island and love it!

Pros:

The beaches are gorgeous. The island is pristine, well maintained and very pretty. Relaxing!

Cons:

It is a great spot to unwind and relax. However, it can be very boring. Not much going on. You have to drive into Sarasota (not that far) for shopping, restaurant and other fun.

Summary:

Love visiting Longboat Key. However, I don't think I would live there. Too slow for me. If I buy it will be closer to the action of Sarasota.

Pros:

Longboat Key is very pristine and the beaches are very relaxing with classy people.

Cons:

Still looking ;-)

Summary:

Considered all of the keys in Sarasota. Siesta Key was too busy and not classy enough....couldn't find the right condo on Lido Key....Longboat Key is elegant and relaxing.... The best!

Pros:

Gorgeous walking beach. Very peaceful and quiet. Beach is low key compared to Siesta or Lido Key. Longboat Key Club facilities are top-notch. Gorgeous water views as you drive down the island

Cons:

Traffic is a bit heavy during the season. If you are on the middle or north end of the island it can be a long drive to Sarasota. If you are still working and your job is in Sarasota you might find the drive too far.

Summary:

One of the prettiest islands in Florida. In the 1990's I lived in the Bay Isles neighborhood and liked it very much. It was great to have access to the nearby golf and tennis facilities of the Longboat Key Club.
